Capital High principal charged for failure to report

Kanawha County prosecutors charged Capital High School Principal Clinton Giles with failing to report an alleged sexual assault at the school. An AP report says Giles did not act after a 15-year-old female student disclosed the incident to a counselor on January 26. Police later charged a 17-year-old student with second degree assault.

Snowplow Collision Near Maple Acres Road

A Mercer County snowplow collision near Route 20 and Maple Acres Road occurred at about 4 25 PM. A state truck traveling north struck a Chrysler driven by an elderly woman who failed to yield. The driver was transported to Princeton Community Hospital with unspecified injuries. Rescue squads and local fire departments assisted. traffic backed up briefly until debris cleared.
