WVU plans $8.25 million business college building
Morgantown reports West Virginia University would finance an 95,000 square foot College of Business and Economics facility with an $8.25 million bond issue. Dean Arthur Kraft says a rooftop walkway would replace the demolished stadium bridge and groundbreaking could occur this fall, with completion as early as late 1987. The project is part of a $75 million bond plan including an engineering research building and a College of Mineral and Energy Resource building.

Virginia Drug Arrests At Tri City Airport Case
Federal authorities arrested four Southwestern Virginia men and a telephone worker in a $33,000 cocaine smuggling scheme tied to the Tri City Regional Airport. The Jan. 18 arrests were revealed after a court seal was lifted, with charges of conspiracy and possession with intent to distribute. The group includes Scarborough, Collins, Thompson of Wise, and Fritz of Pennington Gap. They face up to 20 years and 35,000 dollars in fines, free on 10,000 dollar bonds pending a Tuesday preliminary hearing in Abingdon. FBI said undercover agents built a two year operation culminating in 242 other arrests.
