Funeral services are planned for Alfred Oswell Snider 72 of Rt 1 Rock after a long illness in Charlottesville Virginia. Rev Jerry Shields and Rev Dewey Lacy will officiate at Bluewell Chapel with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery Bluewell. He retired in 1950 as a coal miner for Pocahontas Fuel at Itmann and was a member of UMW Local 9690. He was survived by his wife Clara Lee Rierson Snider and eight children, sixteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Men of Rock Methodist Church. Service set for p m today.
Ernest Ira Coleman 65 of Rowe Virginia died Wednesday at Grundy hospital after a brief illness. Born in Buchanan County he was a former miner who retired in 1959. Survived by wife Ruby Spencer Coleman two daughters Mrs Clifford Blankenship Rose and Mrs Omer Fletcher Warren Michigan two sons Jan H Coleman Nebraska and Bobby Rex Coleman home two sisters Mrs Beulah Hannell and Mrs Draxie Shaw Richlands four brothers Holland Pilgrims Knob Moody Doran Ed Richlands and Talmadge Marion eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren Funeral held Saturday at 1 pm at Rowe Free Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev Ancil Childress Rev T R Stump and Rev Edward Perkins. Burial at Greenhills Memory Gardens Claypool Hill. Friends may call at Honaker Funeral Home today afternoon.
Sam Thompson Jr. of Cincinnati Ohio and formerly of Tazewell Virginia died Wednesday in a Richlands Virginia hospital. Funeral arrangements were incomplete at Peery St Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell.

Nelson Dotson of Staunton Virginia age 56 formerly of Bluefield died Wednesday in Staunton. He is survived by his wife Evelyn Quick Dotson one son William N. Dotson of Roanoke one daughter Linda Snyder of Staunton his mother Mrs. W S Dotson of Bluefield and one sister Ruth Smyrer of Fairfield. Graveside rites will be conducted today at 3 p.m. at Mt. John Atholl Lilly, 50, of Flat Top, died Wednesday at Pine Lodge Nursing Home Beckley after a long illness.
