Local man commits suicide after long illness
W. Keister, 72, killed himself with a revolver in the basement of his daughter Mrs. Lester G. Tomey's home at 2116 Reid Avenue. He had suffered hardening of the arteries for 18 months and recently appeared despondent. A note in his ledger expressed regret but said he could not endure another night of suffering. He died at 12:30 PM. The house was checked by Magistrate McNeal and Chief Lewis. Funeral planned for 2:30 PM at Mrs. Tomey's home with interment at Monte Vista Park Cemetery.
