Coast Guard suspends search for missing plane over Lake Erie
The Coast Guard halted the search for a twin engine corporate jet carrying John T. Fleming, his wife Sue, their two sons, a neighbor and the neighbor's daughter after the craft vanished two miles off Cleveland during a return flight to Columbus. Surface and air units scoured 128 square miles as high waves and 12 foot seas hampered efforts. Federal regulators weigh in on proposed natural gas pipeline
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission released a 2300 page draft environmental impact statement on the Atlantic Coast Pipeline linking West Virginia Virginia and North Carolina. It finds most effects reducible to less than significant levels with mitigations though forest vegetation would suffer significant impacts including 33 acres in Monongahela National Forest and 146 in George Washington National Forest. Dominion Energy and partners say the plan can be built responsibly while critics say the project remains unnecessary and faces strong local opposition.
