Bluefield adopts four day garbage collection schedule
Bluefield will shift to a four day garbage collection plan starting February 1 2016 with pickups Tuesday through Friday on 10 hour days. City Manager Dane Rideout says the change improves efficiency, allows maintenance time, and provides a weekly holiday for staff while noting adjusted holiday dates and a month’s notice. Residents with Monday collection will see Tuesday pickups and rules limit eight 33 gallon bags weekly with restrictions on bulky items and special pickups available by calling the cityTreasury or public works lines.
