Rich Creek Man Dies In Wreck

A 62-year-old Rich Creek man, Vernon Biggs, was killed in a two-vehicle crash on U S Route 460 near Pearlsburg Virginia Thursday afternoon at about 3 20 p m. His 1978 Dodge Diplomat collided with a 1981 International tractor trailer driven by Donald David Boggs of Oak Hill Ohio. Trooper M L Sargent investigated.

McGraw Orders Court Hearing On Sex Case

Chief Justice Darrell V. McGraw Jr. ordered a Jan 18 hearing to probe the plea deal that dropped sexual assault charges against Fayette County deputies Leland Dempsey Rick Pennington and Dave Brown. Special Prosecutor Larry Losch must show cause why underlying indictments should not be pursued. Annette Myers petitioned the court seeking review to ensure justice. Karen Bragg alleged the deputies forced her to have sex in October 1982 while her husband was jailed. Dempsey and Brown faced first-degree sexual assault charges. Pennington testified under immunity.

Miners Recalled at Beatrice Pocahontas Mine

Skate-A-Thon Scheduled for March of Dimes Event

Skater's Haven owner Jim Cochran announced the annual Skate-A-Thon for the March of Dimes set for January 21 at the site. Charges Eyed In Buffalo Propane Tank Disaster

Fire officials said criminal charges will be filed if they locate the person responsible for illegally stored propane that exploded in a five story warehouse on Buffalo East Side.
