A one month old girl found abandoned in Sheridan Square theater receives care from the Pittsburgh Variety Club. The child named Katherine Sheridan Variety will live in a foundling home and pursue education funded by the club. The group, mainly bachelors, passes a rule exception to welcome a female resident.
Mme Irene Pavioska, soprano with the Chicago Civic Opera, married Dr Maurice Mesirow after signing a five year alimony guarantee to his former wife. The 63-year-old Rev Peter Wise jailed in Carlisle after eloping with 20-year-old Annie Shields and facing embezzlement charges. He says he merely took Sunday school funds and plans to wed Shields, claiming the Lord wills it. Shields remains devoted, citing scripture as justification.

San Francisco December 29 The airplane search for Mr and Mrs Glenn Hyde missing since December 6 near the Grand Canyon of the Colorado has been ordered discontinued by General John L Hines commander of the ninth army corps area The extreme hazard to army fliers from all currents to the canyon led to the decision The Hydes are believed to have perished.

Vienna reports the body of Professor Franz Ratachuller of the Salzburg Technical Academy found in a deep Filsenerz cavern.
