Miner Shot To Death Christmas Eve In Yukon Area
William Albert McFarland a year old miner was fatally shot on Christmas Eve near Yukon after an earlier altercation with inn owner George Kamakary of the Rockview Inn. Kamakary was jailed on murder charges and moved to Welch for grand jury action. McFarland, born Matewan, survived by his widow Glendene and daughter Judith Gale, and leaves 12 siblings. Funeral services were set for Blackberry City at the Blackberry Baptist church.

Robert P. Carnes a coalfield figure and former semi pro baseball player died of a heart attack on Christmas Day at his Washington DC home. He worked for Upland Coal Koprs Coal and later as a guard at Andrew Mellon Arts Exhibits and served in World War I. Former Gary Boy Visits Princeton After Navy Duty
Harry Bobbitt son of Mr and Mrs Bill Bobbitt of Princeton formerly Gary toured the community last Saturday. He enlisted in the U S Navy about eighteen months ago and served in several foreign ports.
