New Bluefield Transfer Station Tops Roof in BAT Upgrade
The Bluefield Transfer Station on Bluefield Avenue is under roof and slated to open in the first half of 2022. Named the Larryn Patrick McKinney Bluefield Area Transit Regional Transfer Station, it honors BAT director Larryn Patrick McKinney and will cover about 2,000 square feet with a warm dry space for riders to transfer buses. The $3 million project, led by the City of Bluefield, was groundbreaking in March with Gov. Jim Justice and Sen. Shelley Moore Capito in attendance.
