Striking nurses ratify contract ending Appalachian strike
Hundreds of nurses from eastern Kentucky and West Virginia voted to approve a new deal with Appalachian Regional Healthcare ending a 83 day strike. The agreement returns 350 nurses by January 31 and the rest by March, with at least 80 percent to pre strike units. The contract runs through 2011 and allows for a best effort to restore the original staffing.
