Mercer County approves 2 revenue bond issues for housing and store
Mercer County commissioners met at the courthouse to approve a $1 million housing bond for Chanticleer Partnerships and a $1,375,000 commercial bond for Hecks Store at Southview Mall Bluewell. The housing project includes 20 percent low income units and will create about 30 construction jobs with a payroll of roughly $890,000.

Court remands BCH radiology case back to Mercer County
Two lawsuits filed in Mercer County Circuit Court against Bluefield Community Hospital and later moved to the U S District Court have been remanded back to county court. The federal judge ruled no federal jurisdiction exists though $1.5 million counterclaims against two doctors stay in federal court.
