Edward Kane, long sought as a member of the Boston Billy gang, is arrested in Kenosha after a private detective trailed him following a dispute with his wife. The gang allegedly carried out robberies totaling over 2.8 million dollars, including the Livermore and Rockefeller jewels. Kane faces seven murder indictments and other charges related to the gang's activities. The gang's leader James Monahan is in Sing Sing. Kane previously worked in a factory in Kenosha and had made two trips to New York.
In San Francisco on December 22 an airplane carrying Ruth McConnell and Dr. D O Meexer reportedly departed Millsfield at 3 50 p m for Reno en route eastward. Earlier reports said McConnell had left New York pursued by Meeker, but those were incorrect. The girl was believed traveling to meet her mother in Ogden Utah or Omaha, with Meeker stating he was sent west by her relatives to bring her back.
Tom Scott Goolsby, 22, an amnesia victim, spent Christmas at home in Forsyth after being found in Tyler, Texas, a year and a half after disappearing from Macon. Friends who knew him visited, but he could not recognize them or recall his past, though his mind stays clear on events since July 1927. His parents Dr. and Mrs. R. C. Goolsby plan a large family Christmas dinner and hope memory returns before he leaves for Texas after January 1.
President Coolidge grants former representative John W Langley a full citizenship pardon. Langley, a Kentucky congressman, was convicted in 1924 of conspiracy to illicitly withdraw whiskey from government storage and served part of a sentence in Atlanta. The pardon ends his two year term with lingering controversy over Prohibition era actions.
New York December 22 The Daily News will report Cornelius Vanderbilt Jr has received a 1 000 000 check as a Christmas present from his father Gen Cornelius Vanderbilt and another 500 000 from Mrs Vanderbilt The heir plans to place the money in a trust to add to his 1 257 000 heritage and use it to pay creditors of his newspaper ventures, whose debacle caused the family rift.

Cincinnati December 22 report says 18 month old Frank Brooks of Asco West Virginia swallowed a tiny metallic toy elephant prize in a package. Doctors failed to remove it after a week and the child remains in serious condition in a Bluefield and Cincinnati hospital with milk feeding and sedatives to ease pain.

Specialists fear pneumonia may develop before another attempt to remove the toy motorcycle obstruction can be made.
