Autobiography of a Christmas Gift
The narrator, a pair of knit slippers made by Miss Susanna Sikes, recounts a year of being passed among people as a Christmas gift. Sent to a pastor and his circle, the slippers travel across the continent and back, finally returning to Susanna as Christmas Eve ends. The piece blends whimsy with a fable about gifts and fate.
