Mercer Court set for jury in second degree assault case

In Mercer County Circuit Court a jury is to deliberate today in a second degree sexual assault trial of Jason Scott 25 of Princeton. He pleaded not guilty and claims consensual relations with the accuser. The victim testified that she was assaulted and forensic nurse Shirley Aycoth described exam results.

Fugitives Captured After 2000 Mile Florida Arrest

In a multi state operation 22 agencies tracked and arrested Roy James Hogan Jr in a Venice Florida motel after he escaped in Richlands Virginia on November 5. A second man James Sparks was also arrested on South Carolina check forgery charges. Hogan faces multiple charges across four states and extradition to Virginia is planned.
