Wright brothers milestone marked by Bush flyover
In a rain soaked celebration at the monument grounds, a spectrum of aircraft staged flyovers and space‑age displays as President Bush and Governor Easley addressed a crowd. Bush hailed the Wright brothers’ legacy while Easley noted the growing turnout, calling the week a celebration of human spirit. Scott Leonard, a 1977 alumnus, observed the event.
