Buford Resigns WV Master Plumbers Post for Florida Move
Buford, longtime Bluefield resident, resigns as executive secretary of the West Virginia Master Plumbers Association and plans retirement to St Petersburg Florida with Mrs Buford. He ran a plumbing and heating business before joining the state group in 1943 and will work part time with a Florida association. A native of Indianapolis, he moved to Bluefield in 1932 via Huntington where he led the American Legion Post and later headed the state plumbers organization. Mrs Buford, born in Scotland, is a former state president of the Legion auxiliary and active in civic and church work.

Four Students Killed After School Dance
Four high school students died when their car collided with the Santa Fe Chief at a crossing near Las Animas Colorado after a school dance. The train was reported traveling at about 95 mph and suffered damage while no crew or passengers were harmed. Princeton city council will discuss proposed changes to the zoning ordinance to allow garage apartment building permits to be issued through the normal channels. The measure would require land and an existing house on the lot and would not alter zoning board authority.
