Public auction set for January 7 1926 at 10 AM at the Commercial Bank Building Bluefield WV to satisfy a note secured by a deed of trust on land described as lot 1 block M Plat of Property Development Company. G R Richardson Jr as trustee for Carland Development Company executes sale with reserved lots 9 10 11 12 block A and 9 10 11 block B released by Carland Development.

The event occurs July 7 at the public building door for cash and references earlier deeds to N J Jenkins and others with multiple map sections and lot numbers.

In Bluefield the board of education approved building a Memorial School near Memorial avenue to honor all who served in World War I. The facility will house a Memorial Lobby with four life size statues of Washington, Lee, Grant, and Pershing, plus rooms for memorabilia and trophies. The project will involve the Memorial School Parent Teacher Association and local civic groups collecting trophies and supporting the museum. The Irish Free State has imposed a tax on bachelors.
