Memorial Showplace to Honor World War Veterans in Bluefield
In 1928 the Kiwanis Club urged naming new Bluefield schools for fallen soldiers, but the board chose a broader memorial near Memorial Avenues. It will house a Memorial Lobby, trophies, and a museum space with four life size statues including Washington Lea Grant and Pursuing, and seek War Department trophies. The project aims to unite the community and honor all veterans. The Iriah Free State has imposed a tax on bachelors.
