Three new directors elected to New River District Council
At the annual meeting last week three new directors at large were elected Ed Rock manager of the West Virginia State Fair in Fairlea and Kathy Lukacs of North American River Runners in Hico. Re elected were George Lively Organ Cave Raymond Ferguson White Sulphur Springs Chamber of Commerce and Dr J B Ryan director of the Travel Industries Management program at Concord College.

A major coal exporter using North Carolina ports suspended shipments of 100,000 tons per month amid a contract dispute with an overseas partner. Alta-Ohio Valley Coal Co. spokesman Grant Godwin said shipments through Morehead City stopped November 6 as Alla-Ohio Valley Coal filed for federal bankruptcy.
