Oil spurt lifts Dow to new high as oil majors gain
U S stocks mostly fell on Monday yet a jump in oil prices boosted the energy sector and the Dow Jones Industrial Average to a fresh record. Exxon Mobil and Chevron led gains as oil hit its highest since 2015, while the S&P 500 slipped and the Nasdaq fell. The 10 year yield rose above 2.50 percent before easing, with the Fed policy meeting still in focus.
