Winter brings more troubles for displaced Syrians ATMEH
The Atmeh tent camp near the Turkish border, housing about 12 000 displaced Syrians including 3 000 children, endures flooded ground and cold as winter bites. Volunteers report shortages of medicines and basic supplies while doctors treat bronchitis tonsillitis and diarrhoea. Camp manager Yakzan Shishakly says winter is here and relief is scarce. International aid is limited with Turkish entry constraints complicating aid delivery and refugee hopes pinned on Turkey easing restrictions.
