Treasurer visit energizes Melrose students with cash lesson
State Treasurer John D. Perdue visited Melrose Elementary as BB&T joined as a Education Partner. He displayed $43,000 in cash to illustrate savings growth and led students in counting pennies, awarding dollar coins for correct answers while urging the value of a college education and financial literacy.
