Notices warn road closure from Washington Street to Bland county line after December 19 and detours via Fork and Graham. Appalachian Power Co and Mercer county court order travel disruption.
An ad list from Hawley's Department Store offers gifts for mothers and Christmas decor including bulbs bowls colored glassware and white ware bulbs Candles and candy tins. Leather goods purses cigarette cases and jewelry are pitched alongside Frigidaire appliances and electric cookware. Also featured are Bibles under Phillip Kleiman and various small gift items like diaries fountains and pens with a trustee sale notice toward the end.
A cascade of rental notices lists furnished and unfurnished rooms and small houses across town. Items include six to seven room houses, heated suites, and a garage on North Street, with contact numbers and street addresses such as Third Street South Mercer Tyler and Poplar Street.

In Mercer County Circuit Court on December 7 1925 Ruth Straughan seeks a divorce from Hubert Straughan and general relief. Defendant Donald Hubert is non resident and must appear within one month to protect his interest as required by the clerk’s order.
Ada Grant files for a secret divorce from Monte Grant in Mercer County Chancery. The defendant, a non resident of West fa, must appear within one month to defend the case as ordered by the court.
At a December 7 1925 stockholders meeting in Bluefield West Virginia Mercer Park Association voted to discontinue business and surrender corporate franchises. The directors will liquidate assets pay debts and distribute remaining funds pro rata to stockholders after notice publication. The president will publish the notice weekly for four weeks and file a certified copy with the West Virginia secretary of state.
The fourth division federal court in West Virginia orders a hearing on January 10 before the district court for T F Kane of Princeton Mercer County on his petition for discharge from bankruptcy and directs publication in The Bluefield Daily Telegraph. Creditors and interested parties are summoned to appear and show cause if any why the petition should not be granted. The order is dated December 10 1925 and signed by Judge George W McClintic.
