Hudson River cleanup shifts to floodplain shore area
GE finishes dredging 2.75 million cubic yards of PCB laden sediment on the upper Hudson River and plans soil tests totaling 20 million dollars in the flood plain. Residents in Schuylerville press EPA to include the Champlain Canal in cleanup and prevent future flood related contamination. The EPA review and a potential five year timeline loom as locals fear dike failure would dump polluted silt into Fort Hardy Park.
