Tazewell Virginia Circuit Court Judge Donald Mullins ruled that the county supervisors must pay attorney fees for Dunford. The decision covers costs for a second mandamus petition, the November hearing, and other legal expenses tied to a Freedom of Information Act request for county expense records. The judge declined comment. Dunford’s attorney estimated court costs at 80 to 100 dollars.
William Casey testified five and a half hours on the Iran arms operation and a senior Republican said serious errors of judgment by CIA officials likely occurred. Rep. Broomfield said Casey showed need for stronger internal oversight while avoiding detail on the alleged mistakes. The justices prepare a July ruling on lower court strikes that blocked enforcement.
Town Manager Art Mead warned Bluefield Virginia that water system growth has outpaced capacity and could trigger up to a 50 percent rate increase. The state health department demands a plan by March 31 to restore system to state standards, costing about 1.5 million funded by the rate rise.
