Mining troubles hit Colorado properties prompt city visit

J J Lincoln of the Crozier Land Association and Myron Marsh arrived in the city after a Colorado trip to inspect mining properties. Marsh said mine managers and promoters cannot raise funds to meet payments to workers, forcing wage cuts or layoffs and creating district tensions typical of that mining region.

Woman Falls Against Freight Engine On Kenova Line

A woman named Wise walked along a track when she stumbled and fell against a moving freight engine at 20 mph near Nolan. The engineer warned the train halted, she was moved to a nearby house and later treated by a Williamson doctor. she suffered a broken arm and possible internal injuries, in critical condition.

Mrs Peery Passes Away in Paris Ky

Polly Peery of Paris Kentucky died Sunday at the home of Mr and Mrs Clint Barnes in Paris. The remains were taken to Tazewell and will be interred there. She was a descendant of Mrs A S Gillespie and A P Gillespie. Funeral services are to be held today.
