Dow Breaches 10000 Then Retreats After Brief Breakthrough
The Dow Jones rose past 10,000 for about a minute before retreating on profit taking after investors awaited the Fed decision to hold rates steady. The Dow closed down 41.85 at 9,923.42 as Nasdaq and S P 500 slipped. Kroger fell after weaker quarterly earnings.
