State schools scrap flood insurance plan
CHARLESTON AP The state school department dropped a proposed flood insurance plan drawn up by an assistant superintendent who resigned amid questions over flood recovery contracts. Superintendent David Stewart cancelled the plan on Nov 4, days after G A McClung resigned amid probes. Investigations also loom over McClung’s two flood county furniture deals and a bid tied to friend Phillip Booth.
