Guilty verdict and trial dates set in Mercer County case
Judge John Frazier denied a defense bid for a new trial and set sentencing for Barry White for the same day as a March 5 trial date for his wife Jennifer White on 20 counts of child neglect resulting in injury. Jennifer also faces forgery and bad check charges tied to the couple’s flight earlier this year. Jennifer seeks a venue change, but the judge calls it premature. White remains jailed without bond. Prosecutor Deborah Garton urged jurors to believe the children and rejected defense claims of manipulated memories. The jurors affirmed the guilty verdict on Barry White after questioning by attorneys Lynn Fuda and Susan Henderson.

Centenarians emerge as a growing aging demographic
The oldest old are the fastest growing population segment in many countries. US centenarians rose from about 36,000 in 1990 to 51,000 in 2000, with 1,400 aged 110 plus. By 2030 projections reach 324,000. Dementia is common but not inevitable among centenarians, and many lead satisfying lives despite memory challenges.
