Bluefield Eyes Old City Hall Drawings for Arts Center
Bluefield officials expect completion of architectural drawings this weekend to size space for rental fees as part of converting the old City Hall into a regional arts and crafts center. Bea Paine leads the project amid repairs funded by an Anti-Recessional Fiscal Assistance grant with about 15 000 dollars left from a 40 000 dollar pot. A public contributions drive may finish funding. A Daily Telegraph poll shows broad support. 13 would rent space, six commercial artists, and many willing to consign art. Projects include a coal museum and a theatre by Bluefield Summit Players, plus historic registry applications at state and federal levels.
