Miss Nellie French Dies in Bluefield at 49
Miss Nellie Sue French former resident of Bluefield nurse and public health worker died at St Luke's hospital after weeks of illness. Born 1875 in Pearlsburg Virginia she was a daughter of the late Captain David A French and Mary Ellen Williams. She leaves three brothers and one sister with numerous nieces and nephews. Services were held at Guy D French home and burial followed in Pearlsburg French Mason cemetery.

Williamson men sentenced for DUI after street crash
Frank Steele aged 33 and E. L. Thompson aged 22, both of Williamson, were fined 100 dollars and costs and sentenced to 30 days in jail in municipal court. The pair were arrested Friday after a traffic crash on Princeton avenue near Federal street when Steele’s Oakland sedan struck a car then rammed two parked vehicles. All four cars sustained heavy damage.
