Man charged for impersonating a police officer in Bluefield
Dana Allen Pruett Jr. of Bluefield Virginia was charged with one count of impersonating a police officer in Tazewell County. He carried a blue light and badges, claimed police credentials, and previously faced a 2009 Augusta County case that was dismissed after advisement. He is 25 and employed by Sears in Beckley. If contacted, witnesses should call the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office.

Negotiations continue on Leatherwood property development in Bluefield
The Leatherwood property project in Bluefield Virginia remains in planning. A 100 acre commercial and retail development is being considered with a proposed limited access break at Commerce Drive and Route 460. Developers have hired engineers to study the access change while VDOT reviews the plan. Town officials remain optimistic about a staged project including big box stores hotels restaurants and other retail and recreational options.
