Prison Guard Fire Shocks West Virginia Prison
PENCE SPRINGS, W.Va. AP A guard at the West Virginia Prison for Women was fired and another suspended after an inmate, Robin C. Martin 22 Huntington, died by self harm. The investigation found Elizabeth Crawford failed to perform 15 minute checks. Sgt. Thomas Johnson received a 40 day, no pay suspension. Martin had a long history of self harm attempts and assaults on guards.

Rahall threatens suit over WV House district plan
Congressman Nick Rahall announced he will sue if Secretary A James Manchin attempts to force statewide U S House races in West Virginia next year asserting federal law supersedes state redistricting.
