Suppression decision delayed in Bluefield murder case
Mercer County Circuit Judge Derek Swope delayed ruling on suppressing police interview statements in the first degree murder case of Bradford Spencer 44 tied to his mother Virginia Spencers overdose death. The delay covers evidence from Feb 10 and Feb 11 interviews. A Dec 20 date was set to decide on the second interview and prepare for trial.

Bluefield man charged in 5 year old sexual assault case
Mason Bishop age 25 was arrested in Bluefield on one count of first degree sexual assault and one count of sexual abuse by a parent guardian or person of trust. The offense allegedly occurred November 4 at a residence on Washington Street involving a five year old female victim. Bishop confessed and was arraigned with a $20000 bond. If convicted the sexual assault carries 15 to 35 years and the abuse charge 10 to 20 years. He remains in jail awaiting arraignment.

Shott Yuletide Breakfast to Welcome Women and New Sponsor
