Princeton woman pleads guilty to drug charges in Mercer Court
Kerri Hall a 22 year old Princeton resident pleaded guilty in Mercer County Circuit Court to grand larceny after a September arrest tied to operating a meth lab and related charges. Judge Derek Swope ordered a presentencing report and potential enrollment in Drug Court with sentencing set for January 2017. Mercer County woman pleads guilty to robbery charges
In Princeton, Mercer County Court accepted a guilty plea from 25 year old Rachel Goodman to assault during the commission of a felony related to a April 1 robbery at a College Avenue home. Goodman faced sentencing in late January 2017 and may enter Mercer County Drug Court. She was remanded to Southern Regional Jail and faces two to 10 years in prison.

Bluefield Readies Fourth Annual Christmas Tree Lighting
Bluefield hosts its fourth annual Christmas tree lighting tonight at 6 p.m. at Rotary Green on Bland Street. Gail Satterfield of the Beautification Committee says the community is invited as Memorial and Whitethorn students sing and Princeton Montessori children hand out candy canes. The 50 to 60 foot tree is lit by the Bluefield Fire Department. The Grinch will attend and singing adds to a festive weather-friendly evening.
