Mercer County Sheriff's detectives continue to search for a red Chevrolet or GMC pickup from 1973 to 1980 missing its driver's side mirror after striking and killing 41 year old Jerry McCroskey of Abbs Valley on Lorton Lick Road around 2 a.m. Nov 9. Investigators suspect the driver resides in the Montcalm area and urge tips.

Man accused in kidnapping and rape remains at large
Mercer County authorities issued warrants for Frank Ashby Jr., 40, in connection with a 2:30 a.m. October 16 Ingleside residence kidnapping and rape. He broke in at gunpoint, drove the victim to a remote area, assaulted her, and fled when a vehicle arrived. he has a prior criminal record and was recently released from prison.
