Flash flooding hits Buchanan and McDowell counties
In Hurley and Panther areas near Guesses Fork, 3 to 4 inches of rain from a slow moving storm caused flash flooding. Rescue crews worked Monday afternoon to reach flooded homes, with officials stressing the rainfall was not part of Tropical Storm Ida and a flash flood watch remains through Wednesday.
