The United States posted an 18 billion trade deficit for last month, the largest in a month, with exports lagging and a projected 175 billion shortfall this year. July saw a 5.6 percent fall in new single family home sales to 658,000 annual rate, the lowest since October, while mortgage-rate relief remains absent.
