Safeway Cab Gains Incremental Fares in Bluefield PSC ruling
The Public Service Commission approved a fare increase for Safeway Cab Company of Bluefield, setting a minimum rise of 1 to 2.45 dollars per ride. Additional charges cover per quarter mile, package deliveries, and waiting time. Airport routes to downtown Bluefield, South Bluefield, and Princeton priced at 4.95, 6.95, and 9.05 dollars respectively. Safeway president Carl Mullins acknowledged nonpayment of FICA taxes with a prior waiver not granted.
