Site work starts at Cumberland Park for new Smith Services plant
Smith Services Inc begins site preparation at Cumberland Industrial Park in Bluefield. The 30,000 square foot facility on a 7.62 acre tract aims to open before Christmas with about 25 initial employees, rising to 80 by year one and about 200 within three to five years, boosting local jobs and economy. The park, designed for small to medium industries, covers 120 acres with 33 parcels. 356 total acres remain for development, and Route 2901 reconstruction will enhance truck access.
