Public transit expands routes in McDowell and Mercer counties
The Bluefield Transit System extends service with new Welch to War Saeger and Hemphill routes on Mondays and Thursdays, Welch to Saeger and Hemphill on Tuesdays and Fridays, and Bluefield to Northfork Hollow Crumpler on Wednesdays. Enhanced funding via State Senator Truman Chafin supports growth, reaching about 60 riders daily in McDowell County and a record 12,300 riders countywide in July.
