Princeton Grid-O-Rama features 11 teams at Hunnicutt Field

Eleven teams will kick off the season with a preseason Grid-O-Rama at Anne S. Hunnicutt Field in Princeton. Host Princeton faces Winfield in a night game after several afternoon scrimmages, with Fauquier County and other Virginia teams also on the slate. Tickets are five dollars.

Pocahontas High to Host Foot Jam and Softball Event

Pocahontas High School hosts a Foot Jam on August 20 with three basketball games at 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. featuring Pocahontas against New Castle and Fort Chiswell, plus a Princeton Moose sponsored slow pitch softball tournament August 27–28 with $65 entry, shirts and trophies for top places. Art Rooney Sr. in critical condition after stroke

Pittsburgh Steelers founder Art Rooney Sr., 87, remained in the intensive care unit at Mercy Hospital Friday as doctors assessed brain damage after a stroke. Cardiologist Theodore Gelet said cerebral swelling hindered evaluation while Rooney’s condition stayed critical. Satterfield Builds Five Stroke Lead In Bluefield Golf
