Judge demands more evidence in Hamdi detention case
Federal Judge Robert Doumar rejected the government’s motion to dismiss Hamdi’s bid for release. He said the sparse facts justify no detention of the American-born detainee held at Norfolk Naval Station Brig since April. The order notes Hamdi’s status as a U.S. citizen held without charges or access to a lawyer.
