Judge Recommends PATCO Rights Withdrawal in Strike Fallout
An administrative law judge urged the Federal Labor Relations Authority to revoke PATCO's exclusive bargaining status and cease its participation in the strike by more than 12,000 air controllers. The ruling, if approved, would strip PATCO of recognition in bargaining with the FAA and remove automatic dues checkoffs. The case follows the Reagan administration's push to decertify PATCO for an illegal government employee strike, with a decision due within 25 days and possible appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals.
