An auto traveling from Berryville to Winchester killed Miss May Bushnell twenty five of Winchester when a wreck occurred just outside Berryville. Jacquelin Hardesty survived the crash and authorities pursue alleged wreckers after stones and a large log blocked the road.
An AP report from Milwaukee dated August 7 says one Milwaukee man was killed instantly and three others were fatally injured when their car veered from the road at Brookfield Corners and crashed into a ditch.
In Montgomery Alabama on August 7 Vice President E L Russell of the Mobile and Ohio railroad representing President Finley of the Southern railway and Attorney Weatherly of Birmingham continued their conference on an indictment with concern.
Governor Comer comments on the Alabama Southern railway controversy stating officers did not intend to defy the state. Russell says removing the case to federal court followed regular procedure and not under the new law. Indictment found at Marion raises concerns over potential complications as the railway faces charges for operating without a license.
Tangier August 7 The French charge d affaires Mohammed El Torres reiterates instructions to protect Europeans in Tangier and other ports. The German charge d affaires notes danger at Mazagan and a French cruiser is ordered to Mazagan to shield German residents there.

The senatorial race is close and speculation runs high. T F Noel leads governor race with Earl Brewer near second while Charles Scott demands a recount.
Helena Ark on August 1 former policeman Ben Curruth was arrested today charged with the assassination of J. M. Scott city editor of the Helena World on Sunday morning. Curruth denies the charge but police claim strong circumstantial evidence. Curruth was on the force when the entire police department resigned after graft charges at a citizens meeting. His arrest caused much excitement.
In Norfolk Virginia at Old Point Comfort a lavish banquet honored visiting church figures Monsignor Falconio apostolic delegate to Washington and Archbishop Glennon of St Louis. About three hundred guests attended the event as part of today’s Knights of Columbus meetings.

A Port Jervis tale claims rattlesnake venom cured Mrs Wilhelmina Lodwig of cancer after a bite near Millrift Pennsylvania. Her nephew killed the snake. Doctors warned doom but the swelling faded and the cancer healed, while speculation about the venom’s antidote continues. Separately Capt Baldwin plans to deliver a fugitive from Roanoke.

Newton New Jersey August incident leaves James Johnson of Jersey City Harriet Slinkard 16 and Helen Bloom 18 of Brooklyn drowned while bathing in the lake. They clung to a raft near shore when a scream spurred a group submersion and the bodies were recovered.
On August 7 in Defiance Ohio Kerr Krotz and Victor Mansfield drowned when their canoes entangled on the Maumee river. Rescue crews recovered the bodies.
