Countywide effort links three hospitals for emergency orthopedics
Princeton Community Hospital leads a countywide cooperative with Bluefield Regional Medical Center and St. Luke's Hospital to share emergency orthopedic services. Eight days monthly feed patients to the other hospital when no ER surgeons are on call. St. Luke's would lose ER coverage 15 days monthly but maintain patient transfers. The plan aims to keep care within Mercer County while recruiting surgeons and leveraging Meditech for safer patient records.
