West Virginia man sentenced in wanton endangerment case
Preston Lane Burrows, 26, was sentenced to five years for wanton endangerment involving a firearm after pleading Friday. Police say he pointed a handgun at Elkins officers during a May 2015 disturbance, was shot, and later claimed he wanted them to kill him. During imprisonment he must complete drug and alcohol treatment, mental health care, and anger management.

Last public hearing on Mercer County 911 fee set for Aug 9
Mercer County Commission will hold the last public hearing on Aug 9 about increasing the 911 service fee from 1.25 to 3.
