Bluefield resident Mark Fowler, 27, was trapped for over three hours in a muddy pit of a newly found cave near the Route 460 By-Pass in Bluefield Virginia. He escaped with mud on his hair and clothing after leaving the cave shortly after 6 p.m. He had been missing since Thursday morning and was the subject of a multi-state search.
