Surcharge Set For McDowell Water Customers
CHARLESTON Nove AP The 1980 McDowell County Water Co customers face a $1 monthly surcharge for two years unless the PSC rejects hearings, with the examiner proposing no salaries for stockholders and directors during the surcharge. The plan aims to fund improvements estimated at 2 to 3 million dollars while a $46,000 two year revenue from the surcharge would be redirected to materials to boost service. The examiner’s recommendations would become PSC order August 17 unless suspended.

Gas Bills to Rise From NGPA. Budget Plan Offered
Columbia Gas customers will see higher bills as natural gas costs rise, an official says. The once-a-year Purchased Gas Adjustment is expected to add about 15.50 dollars monthly for the average residential user of 12 000 cubic feet. The increase follows higher prices producers set under the Natural Gas Policy Act enacted by Congress to boost production.
